• A music review about the album I’m breathless by Madonna containing Vogue

So I’m Breathless is technically not a studio album, but a soundtrack. Therefore it’s never included when critics tally the number of albums under Madonna’s belt. This has always bothered me. If a soundtrack consists of only one artist performing every track, like Prince’s soundtrack to Burton’s Batman, or Eurythmics soundtrack to to the film 1984, why can! it be both a “soundtrack” and a “studio album”? I mean, these are all new recordings right? All done in a studio, right? And most the songs on Breathless fall into the “inspired” category rather than actually being featured in the film. But I stray from my point. Its a wonderful album. I suppose it could be called a ‘period piece’ considering 11 out of 12 tracks are heavily influenced by music of the 30′s and 40′s.The album did not get the best reviews at the time, several critics sited Madonna’s voice being too weak fort he genre she was tackling, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I think her voice is actually very well suited for it. S

ooner or Later wasn’t much of anything until her performance at the Oscars- one of her most memorable (remember her date that night?) And we can! forget Vogue. One of her best songs of all time. One of the best dance tracks of all time. That song alone is worth the price tag. But you get so much more. The beautiful lament that is “Something to Remember as well as the cheeky “Hanky Panky” (The only other song on the album to see commercial release as a single.)

My personal favorites are “He’s A Man” (Driving at night to this song makes you feel like a gangster) and “Back in Business” (A song I would have loved to see her perform in her one of her Dick Tracy costumes). There are some weak tracks here too, particularly the goofy “Cry baby” and the irritating “I’m going Banana’s.” But in general this album was solid.

Despite her inevitable chance in Rehab, the sad end to her latest European tour; (how hard was it to see her last attempt to perform on stage),? I hope she seeks the peace in another life that so tragically eluded her in her much too short life and career. Rest in Peace, Amy, and my heart goes out to her family and to all who love her. I can imagine all the “new” fans who will discover her now that she has left us for a better place.

Her music has helped me through a lot of good times, and a lot of bad times. That’s what music is about, right? Helping people cope and live. I adore Avril, and I will continue to follow her music, no matter how it changes, because we’re growing up and changing too, just as she is. And yes, I agree that by the way was a little awkward for those die-hard fans like myself, at first. It grew on me, over time. But we’re coping, and goodbye lullaby seems to promise some of her old sounds as well as some of her new sounds. And if your a true fan, then you’ll deal with it. Besides, it’s her music. Avril, your music has helped me more then any artist.

OK, it’s been a while since we’ve heard something from Avril Lavigne, and I’m just glad I have something new to listen to. If anybody really cared about what goes on with Avril, they would have known that this song isn’t even what her album will be like.

And the song has a catchy beat with a carefree message, little girls wont really be listening to this, so everyone stop complaining. Go to some other artists page and let the people who actually like Avril Lavigne read the comments without constant stupid criticism

Britney has undoubtedly a massive hit on her hands, she’s crafted a near perfect song. Surprising in the fact that it came so sudden, but honestly not so surprising because honestly has she ever put out any bad music? It’s a massive pop tune, perfect catchy and sing along but with a hard electronic edge. Then, unexpectedly, the middle-8 drops a huge dub-step dance breakdown that will surely set a trend (can’t you imagine the video? amazing.

It is unlike anything on the radio at the moment. You have to applaud Spears for not following the trends. She’s taking risks, she’s more in control than one would think. This song is a definite hit! Cannot wait to hear it take over the world.

Breakfast in America is the slickest of all their albums. It sounded great on vinyl 30 years ago. I am just sad they have not done an anniversary tour, but the sides are so divided. At least we have this piece of art that still is great today.

If you are a fan of both Cher and Christina Aguilera this is a must buy! I have never ever bought a soundtrack in my entire life, but I have to say that I am so glad that this was my first. Will forever be a Christina Aguilera and Cher fan, and this album is a big indicator as too why.

Want some good music? Try Chinooks, The Doors, Pierce The Veil, Isles & Glaciers, Jane’s Addiction, Five Finger Death Punch, Bright Eyes, The Academy Is…, Jack’s Mannequin, Radio head, nevermore!, Nirvana, The Smiths, Dance Gavin Dance; there is just so much better music than this. If you are looking at this page, you probably like pop so I’d look at Jack’s Mannequin. If you like trashy pop, Katy Perry is actually pretty good (though more her stuff before Teenage Dream.

When i saw this album by Keri, i was so excited! I thought it would be full of addicting songs similar to Rock star by Primal J;  songs that make you wanna have a sleepover and blast on a boom box for hours; or songs just like from Lil Mama’s VIP album but with more singing! And when I heard pretty girl rock, i was hopeful.

But I was wrong. It all went down hill from there. And why is the title is No boys allowed?  It should be called wannabe booty call. Someone tell me I’m Frazer. If she’d stuck to her album name she could’ve won the attention of lot of people including me. I’ve never been a huge fan, still ain’t.

I’m proud to say today though that this complete album fits right up there on top with those early new wave & artistic releases of theirs. Duran came from solid influences (Bowie, Roxy Music, Velvets, Japan, Kraft, Chic, etc) this record once again proves that. It’s a record for their core audience and it serves them justice. It’s the record so many of us have been waiting for and always knew they could come back to. And Mark Ron son, massive props to you for being a true fan and knowing what not only you but also us wanted to hear. It’s completely relevant and modern sounding with plenty of classic Duran signature sound to keep every listener satisfied and intrigued. I will be hosting a release party once the physical copy comes out in Feb, and I can already tell you the club will be at capacity crowds. Is There Anyone Out There you’ve wondered? Yes there is, and this is what we’ve been waiting for!

I have been a loyal Duran Duran fan since the beginning…Duran Duran were my idols in the 80′s. I have liked some of their albums since Seven and The Ragged Tiger, but most have only had one or two pop songs I liked. I always wished DD would go back to that dance driven heavy synthetic sound with their own “mysterious” sound, that was very synthesis like “The Chauffeur”. I hear this in “The Man who Stole a Leopard”, this song is a masterpiece! Also, I can’t help but jump off the couch when I hear “Girl Panic” and “Being Followed”. Those two songs are straight balls to the wall old school Duran Duran and nothing short of brilliant! I love the whole album, but am questioning why “All You Need is Now” is the first single, as it’s one of my least favorite. It’s a good song, but the harsh synthetic parts seem to not go with that particular song. I would rate the album MORE than 5 stars if I could, as I love probably 6 of the 9 tracks, which hasn’t happened for me since Seven and the Ragged Tiger album.

I’ve listened to it all the way through several times now and I expect to listen to it several more times. That is not true of many of the CD I have in my large collection of various types of music.

Also while the song “Right Round” is a takeoff of the old song by Dead or Alive I don’t think the two need to be compared. They are different songs and if you want the Dead or Alive song, then go buy the Dead or Alive CD. Hey, I have it.
